Bass are being caught on jigs and buzzbaits fished along river jetties. Catfishing is excellent using skipjacks and rice slicks.

A fishermen shows the crowd his albino catfish which he caught during Saturday's Bass Pro Shop's Big Cat Quest Tournament at New Madrid. There were 25 teams taking part in the event, which Ken Freeman, the promoter for the event, described as a "shootout of the big guns" in catfishing.
